XBee Explorer Regulated with 3v3 to 5V Converter, from rhydoLABZ, takes care of the 3.3V regulation, 3V3 <-> 5V level conversion,  signal conditioning, and basic activity indicators (Power, RSSI and DIN/DOUT activity LEDs). It translates the 5V signals to 3.3V and vice versa, so that you can interface a 5V Micros to any XBee module. All XBee pins are brought out at 2.54mm bergstrip to ease breadboard usage.

This unit works with all XBee modules including the Series 1 and Series 2.5, standard and Pro versions. Plug an XBee into this breakout and you will have direct access to the serial and programming pins on the XBee unit and will be able to power the XBee with 5V.

This board comes fully populated with 3.3V regulator, XBee socket, four status LEDs, and level converter 3V3<->5V to communicate safely with the 3.3V XBees.

The board delivers everything promised.

Possible improvements
1) Having an onboard reset would definitely be a boon.
2) The 2.54mm breakout would be better suited on the outside of the xbee. This would help in interfacing wires while resting the system on a workbench.

Issues
2 out of 3 boards that I purchased (well my client purchased for the project which I was working on) had the bottom silkscreened printed upside down. This caused a minor confusion, but was easily rectified.

Its seems good as per the specification, but adding a reset button might have added the worth of the board. Here too, only 4 stars.
