The full kit of A6 GSM/GPRS has an onboard CH340 IC for serial to USB functionality .A keyboard , an LCD , relay & buzzer are also provided.An MCU of STC 8051 family is onboard which is factory preloaded with demo code. 6 way DIP switch seen near the MCU decides the connection between USB -- MCU -- A6 GSM.
This GSM/GPRS Development board is built with A6 Module, works on frequencies 850, 900, 1800, 1900MHZ.The baud rate is 115200 can be set through AT command. The GSM/GPRS Modem is having internal TCP/IP stack to enable you to connect with internet via GPRS. It is suitable for SMS, Voice as well as DATA transfer application in M2M interface. A6 is a quad band modem, being able to operate in 850,900,1800,1900 MHz bands. It is apt for world wide compliance.
This A6 GSM/GPRS Module is now a big competitor for SIM900 series module. The board features compact size and low current consumption. With power saving technique, the current consumption is as low as 3mA in sleep mode. It communicates with microcontroller via UART port, supports command including GSM 07.07, GSM 07.05 and Ai-Thinker enhanced AT Commands.
