Description: Intel® Edison Compute Module is an ultra compact embedded electronics platform that provides ease-of-development/prototyping solution for a range of projects. Powered by High performance Intel dual-core Atom processor with integrated Wi-Fi & Bluetooth® 4.0 support & also with 40 multiplexed GPIO interfaces, this is a great development tool. Its Open source software development environment makes it further more interesting. The 70 pin connector that can be used to attach "Blocks" that works like add-on cards. These Blocks can be stacked on top of one another, making the Edison more versatile to various scenarios.

The SparkFun Block for Intel® Edison - 9 Degrees of Freedom is capable of full range motion sensing. This block uses the LSM9DS0 9DOF IMU, which has a combination of a 3-axis accelerometer, a 3-axis magnetometer & a 3-axis gyroscope. In factory set configuration, it makes used of I2C protocol to communicate with Edison. The output range of the LS9DS0 can changed manually as per user's convenience.

LSM9DS0 includes a standard and fast mode (100 kHz and 400 kHz) I2C serial bus interface supporting and also SPI serial standard interface.

Note:
- Jumpers for SPI are is not supported.
