Arduino UNO - R3 with USB Cable includes both Arduino Uno board and compatible USB Cable. Arduino UNO - R3 is a microcontroller board based on the ATmega328. It has 14 digital input/output pins (of which 6 can be used as PWM outputs), 6 analog inputs, a 16 MHz ceramic resonator, a USB connection, a power jack, an ICSP header, and a reset button. It contains everything needed to support the microcontroller; simply connect it to a computer with a USB cable & start innovating.

Arduino UNO - R3 differs from all preceding boards in that it does not use the FTDI USB-to-serial driver chip. Instead, it features the Atmega16U2 (Atmega8U2 up to version R2) programmed as a USB-to-serial converter. Revision 2 of Arduino UNO has a resistor pulling the 8U2 HWB line to ground, making it easier to put into DFU mode. Revision 3, Arduino UNO - R3 has the following new features:

  • 1.0 pinout: added SDA and SCL pins that are near to the AREF pin and two other new pins placed near to the RESET pin, the IOREF that allow the shields to adapt to the voltage provided from the board. In future, shields will be compatible with both the board that uses the AVR, which operates with 5V and with the Arduino Due that operates with 3.3V. The second one is a not connected pin, that is reserved for future purposes.
  • Stronger RESET circuit
  • Atmega 16U2 replaces 8U2.

"UNO" means one in Italian and is named to mark the upcoming release of Arduino 1.0. The Uno and version 1.0 will be the reference versions of Arduino, moving forward. The Uno is the latest in a series of USB Arduino boards, and the reference model for the Arduino platform.

    • We request our customers to check for defects as soon as the product gets delivered as we do provide a window of 15 days to report any defects caused during manufacturing or while shipping. These will be subjected to immediate replacement.

    • Which power supply adapter should i use for this board to work other than the usb cable?

    • An arduino UNO can be powered via USB, barrel jack adapter or through the 5V pin or the Vin pin.
      For high current application(<1A), we recommend using the DC barrel jack adapter or Vin pin. Here, the minimum input voltage 6VDC (recommended 7-12VDC).
      Note: Barrel jack connector has reverse polarity protection where as Vin pin doesn't.
      You can also use USB or 5V pin to power up the board.
      Caution: Here, no reverse polarity protection is provided & giving high voltage could fry components on board.
      Note: USB connector has a 500mA fuse to protect PC USB port in case of a short circuit. So, make sure you doesn't use USB adapters to power up the board for high current(>500mA) application or the fuse gets blown.

    • The first Arduino used the Atmega8 which could not run faster than 16Mhz. As the chip has been upgraded they wanted to make the boards speed compatible. Arduino is also not really intended for fast-processing (its only 8-bit anyways) so the chips are running at 16MHz.
